San Fran and crying Flight Attendants
.....................................
I got back from San Francisco yesterday. I flew from New York to San Francisco for the 'official' opening of the Urbis Artium show. Every first Thursday of the Month the galleries in the 49 Geary Street complex open up their doors for the opening of their respective shows.

The opening went well, and had the pleasure of meeting lots of interesting people, yet no art sales yet. It is an extremely frustrating thing when you KNOW you have a good show. I am not trying to be cocky, because I normally do not praise my own work, but with this show, I feel absolutely comfortable saying that it contains some of the best work I have ever done. I still have 2 weeks before the show ends, but I am at a loss as to why no sales have materialized yet. I think my next step is to seek out some of the better galleries in New York. I feel like I need to seek out new venues for my work because with the prices of my work going up, I need to be in venues that can move the product.

My good friend Daryll stopped by, and we chatted about his clothing line that I am going to be doing a collab with. We have yet to work out the details, but it is going to be a full cut and sew operation.

The other good news was that I got a mention in the 7x7 Magazine

after the show was over, we decided to hit the town. We decided on 111 Minna gallery for drinks.

The had a show up called Jump Over Me.

Unfortunately most of the show didn't do much for me. It was good, it just didn't hit me. The one artist that I did like quite a bit was this fella. I didn't find out the name of the artist unfortunately.

Bigfoot was at Minna, so snapped him in typical form.

Afterwards, we hit the BART and made tracks back to Oakland for a little rest. I have a wonderful talent of being able to snapped pictures of people in their most unflattering, or goofy poses. Here are a few examples of my work:

I got up in the morning and caught my flight back to Los Angeles. Here is where things get really weird. I get on the United Airlines plane, and things are going normal. I sit down, buckle up, turn off all portable electronic devices, and we take off. The Flight attendant picks up the mic to give the emergency procedures speech that I have heard a thousand times before, but I notice that her voice is cracking a little. I look up and watch this flight attendant deteriorate in front of my eyes. She begins to sniffle. Then cry. Then sob so uncontrollably that she needs to put the mic down. It scared the shit out of me. I was thinking 'does she know something I don't know?'. She was acting the same way you would act if someone told you your father just died. It was fucking spooky. Once she composed herself, she had the most shitty attitude you could imagine. Well, luckily we landed safely and I made it home. I slept for an entire day, and I am back to the grind tomorrow.
